Accessing and saving an Excel file, simultaneously.

When saving an Excel Spreadsheet in a ShareFile folder, it seems that when multiple end users access and edit the Excel file document at the same time, a “Conflict” copy of the Excel file document is created within the folder. Assuming this is occurring because the file is being manipulated simultaneously, is there not an alert or messaging that could automatically be launched to the conflicting/second user to inform them that Excel file document is being edited by another user? Hi Stephen,

There is currently no way to notify when a shared file is edited by multiple users concurrently.

One option that will prevent creation of conflict files is to "Check Out" a shared file if it is intended for editing, and "Check In" once done. While the file is Checked out, other users can do all permitted operations except for editing
