Add Folder Retention Policy?

Is there a way to set a folder retention policy like we can set file retention for folders?

Basically we have a couple parent shared folders and want to set different default folder retention policies for each one, so that their subfolders dont have to manually be set to expire each time a new one is created.

Hi Kent,

I just wanted to clarify something.

We have a folder expiration policy which will cause the folder to expire after hitting a certain point in time.

We also have file retention policy which will expire ONLY files after X days.

If you don't need the subfolders to expire, only their contents, then set the file retention policy on the parent folder.  If you need different retention policies for folders, you will need to group them under similar parent folders since setting the retention policy for the parent will set it for the subfolders.

Otherwise, you will have to set expiration policy on each subfolder, yes.

Thank you for the quick reply.

We do utilize both the file retention policy and the folder expiration policy, however I was looking for a way to streamline the folder expiration policy (apply it to a parent folder), so our production staff has one less step when creating sub folders.

Yeah, unfortunately that's not currently possible.  :(
