Cannot install Outlook Plugin because previous version installation package is missing

I'm trying to install the Outlook plugin on a system that had it previously installed.  The installation process will not start as it is looking for the previous installation package that is missing from all systems in our office.  I cannot find this previous installation package (5.1.1524.2.msi) anywhere on the ShareFile site.

Please let me know if you are still having this issue. Sounds like you have a corrupt installation. We would have to completely remove the old version then install a fresh version of the Outlook plugin.

I cannot uninstall the old version - can't find the old MSI.  Have tried multiple different new install files and I always get the same error.

I'm having the exact problem, too.  I am trying to install ShareFile Outlook Plug-in 5.3.1663.0.  I'm logged into the workstation as a domain and local administrator.

Hi Scott, 

There are a number of reasons you would run into this issue. One being you're trying to install an EXE when there is already a MSI installed on your machine or the installer cannot find the installer file at that location on your machine.

As Marques recommended, using MSFixIt would usually resolve installer issues like this that are relatively common issues among applications for Windows.

Also, I noticed you were attempting to update to 5.3 and I wanted to point out we released version 6.2 of Citrix Files for Outlook (formerly ShareFile Outlook Plug-in).

I had to run the Microsoft tool twice - once to correct the UNINSTALL, and a second time to correct the INSTALL.  After that, I was able to successfully install the SFOLP.
