Citrix Files in Windows Explore is not showing any of the new folders or files that have been added to Sharefile. This is on my PC, and I am the admin for our Sharefile account. It shows all the folders that were present at the time I installed Citrix Files for Windows Explorer, but it has not updated since.

Were you using Sharefile for Windows with group policies before?

Hi John,

Which version of the Citrix Files for Windows are you using? Can you submit the logs (right click ShareFile system tray icon -> Help -> Send Logs) and provide us the id. Additionally please provide the file path and file names that you dont see.

We will have a look at it.

In the meanwhile, can you try logging out from app (right click ShareFile system tray icon -> Settings -> Log Out) and log back in and see if you see the missing files.

Cheers

I tried logging back out and back in through the app, no change to the folders or files.
I just uninstalled it, and re-installed and now it seems to be working, I am keeping an eye on it.
We are doing a 30 day trial right now, hoping that was just a fluke.
I do notice that I have to either refresh windows explorer, or browse out of, and back into a folder to see any changes in it. Is that normal?

Thanks, thats good to know. You are on the latest version as well. Please let us know if you see it again. Just to confirm you are accessing files in ShareFile folders/files and not connectors (Personal Cloud / CIFS / SP) connectors? For ShareFile items, the app should automatically update on getting a changed event notification and it should be more or less instantaneous. With connectors, there could be a window where updates may not show up unless the content is refreshed (right click refresh content) or the path is accessed again for upto a time window of 5 mins.

Im not sure what you mean by connectors, so I assume I am not using those.
I just installed the Citrix Files program and I am accessing the files through it, it has it in my file explorer as the Z: drive.
For the most part it seems like you have to go out of a folder than back in to see changes, or refresh.

Hi John,

Thats not the expected behavior. In almost all cases, the changes should be reflected on its own with our requiring to refresh the folder. Can you please open a support ticket so that it can be investigated.

Actually now its not refreshing at all again.
I uploaded a file via the web interface, while I had windows explorer open to that folder, waited several minutes, it never showed up.
So I tried refreshing, browsing out of the folder and back in, still not showing the new file.
Guess I will put in a ticket for this, hope things can be worked out, we are currently testing to see if we want to switch to this system.

Another update, after I did the above reply, I went back and refreshed windows file explorer again, and the file showed up. But this was a good 5 minutes after I uploaded the file.

We use Citrix for Windows in our office.... I'm curious, why don't you just save directly to the "z"  drive.   We too have noticed a delay if we upload to the browser and then immediately attempt to access file thru Citrix for Windows.  That is why we always save our files directly to the "Z" or "S" drive (Citirx for Windows) instead of uploading.   (We rarely access our files using the browser.)  We are Win10 users.

Eventually that is the plan, employees will only access files thought the windows explorer, i was mainly doing this as a test.
I will do more testing using ONLY windows explorer, but even then I think we were having a delay. And sometimes needing to refresh.  But I will double check.

Users have experienced latency or "hang" if they attempt to click and drag files to Citrix for Windows.  I have encouraged everyone to cut and paste their files.

Good to know, I will keep that in mind.
