We need to disable auto update in citrix files on windows and mac for clients that do not have group policy. Is there a reg key or other way to do so?

Thanks
Marc

Out of curiosity, why do you want to disable Auto Update - knowing that we only support just the latest version and each version has numerous fixes, let alone new features, in it?

Chris! Appreciate the quick response! Most end user clients do not have administrative rights to preform updates on their own and we can't rely on group policy as not all end users (In commercial real estate, mostly at properties) are not domained.

Additionally, we centrally manage all software updates for our clients using RMM tools so we dont want end users prompted with updates.

Thanks for the details.
We are working on solving part 1 of your response- so the future, this wont cause an issue.

Even if not using GPO, you can still set the policy regkey directly. Here it is: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Citrix\Citrix Files | DWord: EnableAutoUpdate | 0

We'd love to get to a spot though where we can help limit your manual work, of keeping machines up to date. Is there something, minus admin vs not, that we are missing that would be needed for you to move to allowing auto-update?

Thanks for the Regkey location. We will use that for now.

I don't think we as IT/MSP think about it as manual work for us but more as just a part of the services we provide to our clients. We try to limit the end users need to manage their own updates and software.

Unfortunately, we also can't rely on the end-user to click the update button. Like for example, right now they are getting prompts for the latest citrix files update. We have gotten two dozen tickets of people asking if they should update even though its not the first time they've seen this. Many others are just ignoring it.

With the ability to disable auto update, than silently update in the background that allows us help them without them knowing or doing anything..

Hi, im unable to remove the autoupdate with the registry path you gave. Is there anything new with newer version of the software? I've tried Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Citrix\Citrix Files | DWord: EnableAutoUpdate | 0
