Disable Users ability to Overwrite File Versioning policy

We have globally setup a file versioning policy but all users can change the setting on their folder. Is there any way that this feature could be made unavailable to the user?

We have done the same thing on file retention policy by logging ShareFile support case just like:
https://discussions.citrix.com/topic/378196-disable-users-ability-to-overwrite-file-retention-policy...
But it is not applicable to file versioning policy and support told us to use UMT which we are not going to use.

Is it possible for us to request ShareFile support to enable it in the future?

Hi Tony,

Can you have a user with the "Access Company Accounts permissions" permission on the account send an email to support@sharefile.com with Attn: Leo in the subject for this request?  Support can set things on the account so that only employees that are considered "administrators" (not just folder administrators) can turn it off.  It's not a commonly used feature but it does exist.

Hey Tony,

I sent a response back to Joe to try now a few days ago.  It's possible the message is caught in mail filters.

Hi Leo,

We can saw your email.
Besides, I saw you had opened a support case for us,  but we want to restrict the file versioning not retention policy.
Thanks

Hi Tony,

This is completely my error.  I'd like to apologize for my misunderstanding and the extra time you spent on this, as you are clearly stating "File Versioning" here, but my mind was processing it as "retention policy" the whole time and I've been acting on that as a result.

This would need to be a feature request, since users are administrators of their own personal folders, so you wouldn't be able to stop the file versioning changes made on them.

Hi Tony,

Just got a heads up from one of the Product Managers that Enterprise accounts should be able to do what you are requesting with Policy Based Administration.  You  lock in a version control and don’t let the user modify it on folders they own.  The article for it is here:

https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX217124

Since you want to avoid the User Management Tool, you would need to create something with the API in order to apply it.
