When migrating from local file storage to ShareFile, modified dates can be retained using either the GUI sync tool or the CLI sync tool, but those dates do not display on the web interface.

How do you know the dates are "retained"?  Having a similar issue where "date modified" from migrated date looks like it was all created on the date uploaded.

When you use the Sync application the date modified remain correct but that's the only way to see them.

Hello Everyone,

Currently, the upload date cannot be changed through the web application.  However, the last modified date should still be maintained in the Properties.  Marc's suggestion is also an alternative to locating the original creation date rather than the upload date.

We do hope that this helps, but please let us know if you have any additional questions and we will be glad to help.

How can you view this date in the properties?

Erik,

When the file is downloaded, you should be able to right click on the file name and proceed to Properties. The creation, modified and accessed dates should be listed.

Thank you.

Seems like this information should be more easily available in Sharefile Desktop and web interface. I believe many users sort files by date modified and check the date modified before opening a file to make sure they are accessing the file they need. It seems counter-intuitive to have to do download your files to find out when they were last modified. Also, if this information is so easily available in the properties why can't Sharefile make this information easily viewable like in Windows Explorer?!

Erik,

I have categorized this as an idea so that our Product Management team can provide feedback.  Currently, only the upload date is available which does not always reflect when the file was created.  We do apologize for the inconvenience, but please let us know if you have any additional questions and we will be glad to help.

Thank you. Hopefully, they will look at it for both the website and the desktop app!

Hi just wondering if this feature has been added to Sharefile now. We handle a number of companies which we would like to use Sharefile however this ability to view the 'Date Created' property is vital for our users.

Has anything been done about listing the date modified instead of date synced?  Our firm has just switched to Sharefile from Dropbox, and now are considering going back because each time they sync a folder it lists the sync date instead of the last time the files was modified.  They need to sort by date modified not by date synced.

I agree.  The date modified is much more important to me than when it was uploaded. Is there any intent to add this as an option?

We are new to ShareFile, and we too would prefer to have Date Modified as opposed to Date Created.  It's concerning to me that Citrix has not implemented this change.  It would clearly benefit many more users than Date Created or Uploaded.  Why hasn't this taken place?
