Email me when a file is: notification under folder for a client

In your documentation I see the following " In order to be granted this permission, the user does have to also be granted the download permission. Users with download permission will also be able to grant themselves this permission through a checkbox on the folder". I can't have the client being able to enable the " Email me when a file is" option. Is there an option to disable email Notification for the client user under basic info for the client or a way to disable this. We don't want the client to get emails when a new file is added. The button seems to be tied to the download rights for the client under people on this folder..

Thank you

Unfortunately the ONLY way to remove that check box for clients users is to remove their Download permissions within the folder.

That's a bad design. So folders that are being pre populated with data the client will get a email about this even though we don't want them to know it's ready to be accessed.  Wow.

Anyway to get around this? We can't remove download rights. Should we just customize the SMTP server to a fake account so the emails never go out? But this effects every type of email i guess.

Surprised others have never complained about this -- thanks

I think you may have been speaking to a colleague of mine recently. I had him create a feature suggestion in regards to your ticket. I apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
