Enable ShareFile Sync in Apps even when using key

Our goal is to allow the Sync tool to only be used on managed PCs (enrolled in AD). In order to do that, you need to disable Sync in "Desktop Apps" under the ShareFile tools preferences to have the ability to enter your key. The problem is that when you disable Sync, it also removes it from the Apps for users to download.  In reality however, it is not disabled. It is enabled using a “key”. I would understand if both of these checks were off but if you have either one, Sync should display under Apps.

Could this functionality be added?

Thank you,

@Dany

Typically when you want to enable sync access to only selected users, sync installer should be pushed along with the "key" Group Policy only to those users. Allowing sync to download for users who will not be able to use it causes confusion.

It is not so much that we want to allow it for just selected users. All users can use it. What we do not want is using Sync on PCs we do not manage like personal PCs. We want to restrict corporate data to managed (company owned) PCs.

Hi Dany,

Anyone can download Sync at dl.sharefile.com/sync2win or dl.sharefile.com/sync2mac as there is no authentication required for the download.

The links just make it convenient to click on.

I understand that. It's just that from a communication purpose, they can get all the other tools other than that one from the ShareFile Web page
