When using Sync for Windows, files that I open open in Read Only mode. The documents are not checked out, and no one else has the documents open. I can copy and paste the files in a different location and open/edit them just fine. But why can I not do so in the ShareFile directory?

Hi Connor,

Are you a local administrator for your computer?  Also, can you go to the dashboard menu for Sync and click on Report an Issue?  This will allow you to submit logs from your machine so that it can be looked at further.

Thanks Connor.

If you go into the properties of the Sync root folder (the default location is %userprofile%\ShareFile), who does it say the owner is?  If you're not sure how to find this information, you can refer to this article from Microsoft:  https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc961992.aspx

Hi Connor,

We have some findings for you that I'm going to have shared privately with you through a ticket.  There's a few things really non-standard in your configuration that are probably impacting things for you.
