FileSite 9.3.3.016 and Citrix Files for Outlook, when adding files with ShareFile and doing a Send and File get error "Unable to create share alias. Invalid recipient address:..."

1.
Create new email and attach a file via iManage

1. Create new email and attach a file via iManage
2. Convert the attachment using the Convert Attachments button
3. Click on Send
4. Get prompted for Send and File, choose a file folder, and click on Send and File button
5. Almost immediately get the following prompt stating that “Unable to create share alias. Invalid recipient address:...”
6. Click on OK
7. Try another location. Same error but a different recipient address is listed of course
8. Remove the Bcc information
9. Click on Send again and this time choose Send only. That one goes through but I still get a second prompt to file my email even though I did not file the first. That one allows me to file the email

I believe we had a similar issue on 9.3.3, I think this was resolved in future builds from iManage, we are on 9.3.5, it may have been in 9.3.4 they fixed this... can you try updating to the latest 9.3.x client of iManage?

Hi Dennis - I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue. We don't claim to be compatible with other Outlook add-ins due to the nature of the Outlook add-in framework and the unpredictability of the order in which add-ins will perform actions on messages. And I can't say I am familiar with your workflow. But there is a known issue in Citrix Files for Outlook where email addresses with characters such as '{' and '}' are incorrectly marked as invalid. This should be fixed in the 6.2 version, planned to be released in October. Until then, is there a way to prevent the other add-in from changing your recipients email addresses to include '{}'?

Thanks,
Doug

You are correct Derek.  I tested it with 9.3.5 and it seems fixed in initial testing.  Please consider this answered.

Thank you also Douglas for your reply.

Looks like I was incorrect.  The issue persists with 9.3.5 iManage Client.

Douglas, any word on when 6.2 is due out?

Thank you.

Hi Dennis - Currently the plan is to release 6.2 next week, as long as no further issues are found during testing.

Thanks for being patient!
