How do users request access to folder if they obtain url?

Can a new user with access to the folder share url, request folder access via ShareFile supported workflow? Ideally the user wanting access to a folder (external or internal) can request access and the admins of the shared folder can grant that access all within ShareFile capability. Is that possible? Today, it appears a new user must use some other medium outside of ShareFile, like email, voice, text etc. to ask for access. This assumes the person knows who to ask. It also places the burden on the admin to use two different t tools to understand the ask and grant or deny the request. Hopefully I’m doing something wrong.

Hi Seth,

This isn't completely what you're requesting, but folders can be set up to allow "Folder invites", which automatically give people access to a folder if requested.  They DO need to have access to the link generated from that, however.

Here's the article about it for more detail:

For Share links, anyone with the link can access the Share link unless you restrict it to login only -- in that scenario, only the people it was initially sent to can access the link.
