Ruby,

Creating View Only Shares requires a feature to be enabled for your account. You can query the API with the following request to see some of your account preferences:

GET https://xxx.sharefile.com/sf/v3/Accounts/Preferences

Verify that the response object includes the property "EnableViewOnly" and that it is set to true. If the property is not true, do reach out to our Support team via phone or email to see if turning this feature on for your account is possible.

Thanks!
Eli

Eli,

Thanks for the response.

I do see "EnableViewOnly":true in the response object. Could you please help me create a view only share.

Ruby,

In that case, could you provide the complete error response from ShareFile? When the exception happens, you can parse the response body, which will include an error message property. That should shed more light into the 403 response. If the message itself is not very helpful, please post it here alongside your user subdomain and we can search on our end.

Thanks,
Eli
