Local windows back up and qnap NAS back up

We are currently only using a trial version of sharefile, and we really like the product however i cannot get a couple of questions answered before we commit. I have been told the trial version does have all capabilites.

Does anyone know if you can create a windows back up (for individual users PCs) directly to a shared folder on sharefile?

Also, i know qnap NAS devices are capable of one and two way sync to sharefile, which is great, but is it capabale of doing just a back-up to sharefile? I tried webdav back up, and it accepts the webdav link credentials but then i get a 'cloud storage device denial' error on the NAS.

These are two important features for us, so if anyone knows a work around, or if it is possible, please let me know.

Thankyou

Hi Adam

For the first use case, we do not really have a backup solution to shared folders on ShareFile, but users can use the ShareFile Migration tool to copy data from their local into ShareFile. Jobs can be scheduled at specific times to copy this data that can address this use case.

Regarding qnap devices have you tried using Hybrid Backup Sync? https://citrixready.citrix.com/qnap-systems-inc/hybrid-backup-sync.html
I believe they built and integration with us so their support team should be best able to help if you run into issues.

Thanks

Hi Anirban,

Thanks for the reply. I will have a look at the sharefile migration tool.

As for the hybrid backup sync, i can use this to do 2 way sync, which i mentioned, it is very good and very easy, however i have clients that we just want to use a shared folder on sharefile to backup the NAS. I was hoping to use webdav (part of hybrid backup app on qnap) which connects no problem using the webdav link, however thats as sar as it gets before i get an error saying cloud storage device denial' its like it sees the link, connects, but then cannot go any further. Im assuming its your end because we use the hybrid webdav sync to sync currently to autotask work place and it works fine.
