Outlook Delay Delivery not working if Citrix Files for Outlook plugin installed

Problem:  Outlook email 'Delay Delivery' does not work if Citrix Files for Outlook plug-in (with the blue S) is installed.  This is occurring for more than one user.

Outlook Delay Delivery works when the older ShareFile Outlook plug-in (with the green S) is installed.  It stopped working after the ShareFile Outlook plugin was updated to Citrix Files for Outlook plug-in version 6.0 or 6.1.

Description of problem:  After setting the 'Delay Delivery' Option for an email and clicking Send, the email is in the user's Outlook  Outbox and in italics.  However the problem is that if the user closes the Outlook program, next time the user opens Outlook the email(s) in their Outbox are no longer in italics (they are in regular font) and therefore don't get sent at the date & time set for Delay Delivery.

Note:  Delay Delivery is set in the email 'Options' tab.  'Do not deliver before' is ticked and set to a future date & time

Software being used:  Outlook 2016.  Citrix Files for Outlook plug-in ver 6.1.1949.0 (also an issue in the earlier version ver 6.0).

Hi Nikola,

I'm on the Engineering team that works on Citrix Files for Outlook (formerly ShareFile Outlook Plug-in). 

I've actually tested this scenario recently with a user from the Citrix Discussions forum and Delay Delivery sends successfully in each of my tests. 

I tested with messages that have ShareFile links and those that do not. When I clicked "Send" the messages went to Outbox and were visible with italics as you described. When relaunching Outlook after the set Delivery time my messages were sent and delivered to the recipient.

Is there any other information about your environment that wasn't already mentioned? I'm not sure what other variables could be causing this for you.

Hi Wendell, Citrix ShareFile (Citrix Files) support have been able to replicate the problem.  It is not going to be fixed any time soon.  Regards, Nikola

The legacy ShareFile Outlook plug-in doesn't appear to be available on the Citrix downloads page any more.  https://www.citrix.com/downloads/sharefile/  Even if you do have a copy of the older Outlook plug-in version (with the green S), you may find that it automatically updates to the newest version (with the blue S) - depending on your settings.  I am resigned to the fact that I cannot use the Outlook Delay Delivery feature if I have the ShareFile/Citrix Files Outlook plug-in installed.

You're welcome.  We were able to replicate the issue with several users on several computers (with various software settings) in our firm, and Citrix ShareFile / Citrix Files support also confirmed with me that they were able to replicate the issue.  Unfortunately a fix is not expected any time soon in a future version of the Outlook plug-in.
