PDFs are previewed as Word docs in ShareFile portal

When we share PDFs with ShareFile, the Preview setting in the portal space uses Word to preview the document, rather than  a PDF reader. While this isn't normally a problem,  it seems unnecessary and potentially confusing to our clients. Any way to turn this setting off so we don't preview PDFs using Word?

I believe its using the office 365 engines which is how it preview excel, word, etc. pdfs in the engine utilize the word engine and is why it displays as MS word in the document. its just the previewer used and not doing any conversion. ti is still a pdf. it just an easy way to use one platform that will display the most common file types than multiple platforms

Jason, thanks for the background info on what this is doing; however, i too like Hadley would like to know how to turn off the preview mode. It is confusing to my clients that get the 'fail' message with the pdf previews. Any ideas?  thanks, sean
