How to Download

What’s included?

Overview

Users may now access ShareFile directly through Finder.  Files get downloaded as they are opened and are not permanently stored on the computer.   Save changes to files and they are automatically pushed back to the cloud.  Common actions in Finder like drag and drop, rename, move, move to trash, and others automatically update items on the cloud.

Menu Bar Dashboard – A menu bar icon is available which will present users with a dashboard of recently accessed files.

Right Click Menu – Right clicking within Citrix Files accesses ShareFile specific options.  This provides  access to share, request, checkout, view details, favorite, manage permissions, and more depending on the item.

File badges
– Files and folders have a badge to indicate their status.  These badges can be used to indicate whether a file is checked out, monitor an upload in-progress, or see if there has been an error with uploading a file.

Notifications – Confirmation and warnings for certain actions are sent using the notification center

Who needs to know?
Citrix Files for Windows is for both Enterprise and SMB customers.

Hi Walter, thank you for the questions. This is actually a brand new tool and yes it follows the new branding.

In the end, this tool will be a combination of Drive Mapper, Desktop App and Sync, and those three tools (at a later date) will be upgraded to this one unified tool - Citrix Files for Windows / Citrix Files for Mac. Currently, the tool offers Driver Mapper functionality along with most of the features of the Desktop App. We will continue to close on the Desktop App feature set and eventually provide 'offline access' (sync) support. Be on the look out on releasenotes.sharefile.com as we continue to add these features to this app, as well as offer a beta of 'offline access' later this year.

that is great news... one of the small challenges we have when setting up Sharefile customer is the fact we have to teach them on all the different client solutions. I would love to have one app and let it do it all and just enable the features we want. I guess for VDI environments we should still use the mapper for stateless model?

Glad this helps! For VDI, you should start deploying Citrix Files for Windows: https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX228273 At the bottom you will see similar (plus more!) GPO settings for Citrix Files for Windows. However, there is only the exe so you would need to deploy via a tool like SCCM.
