We are pleased to announce that the Citrix Files for Windows app, v4.6 is available for download.

How to download:
What's new:
  • MSI Support - Administrators can now deploy an x64 .msi file of Citrix Files for Windows. Today, our application only supports autoupgrading to an .exe. Since .msi only supports .msi to .msi upgrades, you must deploy the GPO to disable autoupgrades. If you have the .exe version of Citrix Files for Windows installed and you want to use the .msi, you must uninstall the .exe version first. You can download the .msi from  Citrix Downloads.
  • File conflict detection and resolution (preview)
    • Users are notified when a newer version of the file they are currently editing is uploaded.

  • When users save the file, they can choose to overwrite, discard, or save a copy to Citrix Files for Windows.

  • The conflict notice also appears on the Errors tab.

  • Note: The Errors tab is enabled after turning on the Enable beta features toggle in Settings. For more information on beta features, see Knowledge Center article CTX237762.
General Quality and Performance Improvements, included but not limited to:
  • An "Incorrect function" error message appears when accessing the mapped Citrix Files drive.
  • Files saved using Microsoft Edge might not upload correctly.
  • When a user's AppData system variable points to a UNC path, Citrix Files for Windows exits unexpectedly.
  • There was a case where PDF files might get corrupted when saving.
Who needs to know?
Citrix Files for Windows is for both Enterprise and SMB customers.

FYI - we will be releasing a hot fix today, build 4.6.42. The build is currently available on the Citrix Downloads page. The build is also live on the apps page, within the Web Application soon, and we will begin the auto update process this afternoon.

The build fixes the following issues:
  • Issue where a few users were seeing PPTX files were having a corrupt version uploaded
  • Exporting documents as PDF fails
  • Deleting Favorited PCC doesn't delete original copy
  • Read failures when virtual memory is low (and some corresponding memory usage improvements)
  • AutoCad temp files being uploaded
  • Temp files being uploaded if the original file was not created by the current user
  • Editing documents in the Network Share Connector was failing

Hey Brian - Is there a reason for not using the latest public version as that includes a number of bug fixes found in pervious versions?

We are not fans of the bleeding edge with software releases and like to have internal testing before production release.  We have been burned in the 3.X drive mapper releases causing caution and UAT before rolling to masses (our production release is currently 4.5.26) .  Thanks in advance!
