Starting today, we are beginning the process of auto-upgrading Drive Mapper to Citrix Files for Windows.

Citrix Files for Windows continues to allow native file system interaction without the need to keep local files, and adds new features like:

  • Initiate Workflows, Manage Permissions, and more on right-click
  • User notifications for uploads, downloads, renaming, and check-in/check-out
  • Multiple Windows mount points, including Connectors
  • A Citrix Files dashboard, view recent files (with a right click menu), transfer queue and errors
The auto-upgrade process will be released in stages throughout the next few weeks.

If you have deployed Drive Mapper with custom GPOs, please visit the Visit the Upgrading from ShareFile Drive Mapper to Citrix Files for Windows article for more details on how Citrix Files for Windows and Drive Mapper GPOs interact.

Please note the following:

  • Users will need to re-authenticate. This can be seamless to the end user if using SAML Integrated Windows Authentication with the 'Account' GPO for Citrix Files for Windows or the corresponding Account GPO for ShareFile Drive Mapper
  • If Drive Mapper was deployed with the GPO to disable auto-update, then the app will not be auto-upgraded to Citrix Files for Windows and we will rely on you to manually push out the latest version of Citrix Files for Windows, which can be found here.
