We are pleased to announce the release of ShareFile Web Application v18.11. The following changes are available to all customers.

User Management Improvement: E-signature

A number of improvements have been made to how to manage e-signature users and licenses in ShareFile. Previously users had to manage to licenses and access through the RightSignature webapp and now everything can be done through the ShareFile webapp. To start, the number of e-signature licenses available and consumed is now listed on the 'Admin' page.

E-signature permissions can also be found in user settings in the E-Signature section under "User Access".

The browse employees list now has a filter that allows you to see just users with e-signature licenses.

Workflows: Request List Redirect

We have updated the left navigation link to make it easier for accounts with Request List to navigate to their active requests lists. Now when you click on "Request List" under Workflows in the left navigation bar, you will be taken to the workflows page pre-filtered to display just requests list and not all workflows.

Storage Detail Report: Upcoming Section Header Changes

Another reminder that the Storage Detail report output structure will be updated in a future release (tbd).

The current report structure is shown in the image below:

Going forward we will be adding a ‘Path’ column before the ‘Name’ column. This will remove the need for indented lines to depict subfolders and files. An example of the new report is below:

The following customer issues have been resolved:

  1. Error messages were being intermittently displayed when a user who doesn't have the ability to manage clients or add to the shared address book adds an existing user to a folder by manually inputting the user's name and email address. Those errors should not have been displayed.
  2. The Personal Folders page was displaying the option to "Email Me when a file is: downloaded from this folder / uploaded to folder". This option has been removed since it cannot be set on a root level folder like Personal Folders or Shared Folders.

On the storage detail report, I would love it if you'd also add a "Storage Zone" column. We have cloud and on-prem storage zones, and it would be nice to know everything about where files are stored.

We'll take this into consideration for any future improvements to that report. Just so we are clear on our side, are you trying to figure out where specific files are located or just trying to see how many files are on specific zones / where (which zone) a user is storing their files? If it's the later two items, have you taken a look at the Storage Summary Report?

If you are trying to figure out where specific files are located, what is the action you plan to take next with that data?

We would like to know where specific files and folders are located. Thanks.

Thanks! If you dont mind me asking when you get this information on the files/folders, what do you do next? Are you trying to see if certain files are on the wrong zone? For example, sensitive files are on a cloud zone but you truly want them on your on-prem zone so now your next step would be to migrate that file/folder to the correct zone.

Yes, exactly. We have plans to build out more on-prem storage zones, but before we do we would like to have the ability to report on which storage zones our folders and files are stored. This is especially true of cloud zones because we have no way of knowing what is in the cloud vs on-prem in the current reports.
