Hi,

about a year ago, I found a Setting in the WebApplication to set the Retention Period for the Recycle Bin. At the Moment i can't find that Setting anymore.

How can i set the timespan for the retention period of the recycle bin?

Regards,

Bernd

Hi Bernd,

The Recycle Bin is 45 days and cannot be changed on an account.  Are you sure it wasn't the global retention policy you saw instead?

Hi Leo,

is possible. Are there any plans to add this feature. Can I make a feature request?

Kind Regards,

Bernd

Hi Bernd,

I've gone ahead and changed the topic of this thread into an idea.  Please add any additional detail for your Recycle Bin feature request.  For historical note, retention policy for the recycle bin did used to be only 7 days a few years ago, and we changed it to 45 days after user feedback, but that's not the same thing as allowing individual changes to the recycle bin per account.

Hi Leo,

we are a CSP and host a multitenant Storage Zone. For us a Retention Period of 45 Days is too much.

We hat a User who deletes a Folder in Sharefile and after the deletion start a new copy cycle. So he add round about 5 GB to the recycle bin each day.

With the old retention Setting he use "only" 45 GB with the old files. with the new one he generates 225 GB in the Recycle bin.

We have optimized the script for this customer. but i can't see the used space per customer in my storage zone, so have a problem to find such customers.

So it was nice, to have the possibility to set the rentention period per Customer Account, or better per Storage Zone was helpful.

Kind Regards,

Bernd
