Simultaneous users in a file issue

We have multiple users syncing the same sharefile folder using the default Windows sharefile sync program. Because the files they open are offline, they will not get an notification when another user already is editing the file. Is it possible to give the user an notification (when they are connected) that the file is already opened by another user?

Hi Terran,

Normally we would recommend using the Check In/Check out feature, but if the computers involved are offline, I'm unsure how it would be able to communicate that the file is in use, regardless of what feature could potentially be used.

Any update on this? If personA is editing a file in Shared Folders, how do we prevent personB from editing the same file without needing to check it out, but still be able to open it in read only?
