Special Characters on ShareFile Connectors

I'm trying to use the CIFS UNC path as part of a connector filename:

Send-SfRequest -method PATCH -client $client -Entity items -Id  fore2353-145b-4365-9018-7916b1f9a568 -body $link

$link.Name = "\\sample\sharefiles\backslash"
Send-SfRequest -method PATCH -client $client -Entity items -Id  fore2353-145b-4365-9018-7916b1f9a56
8 -body $link

Id                                       FileName                         FileCount       FileSizeInKB
--                                       --------                         ---------       ------------
fore2353-145b-4365-9018-7916b1f9a568     --sample-sharefiles-backslash                    0

But it keeps changing my '\'s for '-'s

 Any thoughts?

Thanks, Andima

Hi Andima,

'\' is not a valid character in an item name in the CIFS connector. It will be replaced with a '-' when the connector sanitizes the item name.

The same goes for these characters:
/ : |

These characters will be removed altogether:
* ? " < >

These are based on the characters that Windows prohibits in filenames.
