Can I download files with a SSIS package from Citrix ShareFile? If so how easy it is and is there any documentation on it?

Hi pstmastr,

I'm not familiar with SSIS packages, so I can't answer your question directly. However, you can download from ShareFile easily from any application that can make HTTP requests, using the API. Here's the documentation for that: api.sharefile.com.

Another solution would be connectors (documentation here:https://support.citrixonline.com/en_US/ShareFile/help_files/SF090004?title=StorageZone+Connectors), which allow you to connect other data sources like network shares, sharepoint, etc. to ShareFile.

Let me know if this is what you're looking for.

Thanks!
Eli

I would also like an answer to this question.  Maybe we could find someone who is familiar with SSIS?

Dave,

There is currently no documented solution to integrate ShareFile with SSIS, and we don't know of any customers that have done it. However feel free to browse the api documentation and connectors documentation I linked above. We provide these extensible platforms for cases like this, when our customers can customize ShareFile for their needs. Let me know if you have any question using the API or the Connectors SDK.

Thanks!
Eli

This would be great if Citrix ShareFile had some information about using SSIS packages to upload and download files.

I was able to access ShareFile through SSIS by using the SFTP task and FTPS Connection Manager from CozyRoc.  Here is the connection information:

Server
  • Connection Type: ImplicitTLS
  • Host: ftp-hipaa.sharefileftp.com
  • Port: 990
  • User name: domain/email address (e.g. GHOSTBUSTERS/pvenkman@ghostbusters.com)
  • Password: ShareFile password for user
  • Time-out (secs): 60
Advanced
  • Use binary transfer - Checked
  • Data transfer passive mode - Checked
Proxy
  • Proxy: None

In the COZYROC SFTP Task Editor, the Remote directory needs to start with /pvenkman@ghostbusters.com.
