Stop receiving multiple emails from staff who have commented

Hi, does anyone know how to customise a users profile so they do not ever get notifications that someone else has commented on the document?  They get the original email, but once they have commented, they no longer want or need further emails stating someone else has commented.  They are getting very frustrated by this.  I have already changed their user settings to only getting emails once a day, but this is still proving frustrating.  Thanks, Ange
