Sync in LAN?

Hi everyone,
couldn't find a post on this topic and sharefile documentation confuses me about this topic.

So my question is - can I download/upload/sync files to/from sharefile over LAN/WLAN? (standard customer managed zone)
Or does the actual file transfer always happens via WAN address of the storage controller? (I know that the initial connection always goes over WAN)

Scenario: we have a customer with a fileserver and several iOS tablets. Is it possible to upload the files from fileserver via LAN Connection to the storage controller (inside the same LAN) and download the files on the tablets in WLAN? So without sending the files over the WAN connection?

If yes, what do I need to do for this? Or what do I need for that? Netscaler? No Netscaler? Does it need to be on the same subnet?

Thanks in advance for your help!
