Turn off Encrypted Email Receipt Notification For When You Read Clients' Emails

As a business, we would like to know when clients read the encrypted emails we send them. The current encrypted email receipt notification does this.

However, it not optimal to have email receipt notifications turned on for the clients. There should be an option to turn off encrypted email receipt notification for clients. We are just going to annoy them and this is not really helpful for a business application. Hopefully that was clear.

Right now when I read a client's encrypted email reply, they get an email notification saying that I viewed their message and I would like to turn this off. Please. Thank you.

Any feedback from ShareFile on this? We do not want to annoy clients with read receipts when we read their replies.

I wanted to bring this up again. Looks like this is still the case. I currently have a project with a lawyer where this is a show-stopper for Content Collaboration as he does not want his clients to see when he read an email. However, he wants to see when the clients read an email that was sent encrypted through Sharefile Webapp or Outlook Plugin.

Sadly ShareFile does not really provide updates. I've had no fewer than 5 conversations with ShareFile product people about this and no movement.

A workaround could be - when sending the email from Outlook with the plugin, you could turn mail receipt of in the encryption plugin but turn it on in the outlook client. This way you send the "encrypted" mail but the receipt is not handled by Sharefile, it is then handled by your exchange server and behaves correct in that case. Of course with the Webapp this is not possible.
