Upload folders with file request link

My website uses the API  to generate a file request link for each order so that customers may upload order related files to their dedicated folder afterwards. However in this interface users are unable to upload folders, the error displays as 'Sharing folders is not available with this option. Please use individual files.', where as when logged into sharefile it is possible to drag and drop folders within other folders without issue.

The link generated for the customer doesn't require an account so accessing the sharefile account interface to drag and drop into folders isn't an option at the moment. Are there any ways around this limitation? Such as an additional option for creating the share that allows folder uploads?

Thanks

Hi Drew,

Because folder drag and drop only fully works when logged in (with Chrome), we normally recommend uploading a zip file of the folder if you need a folder uploaded via a request link.  If it's just a few files, you can upload just those files instead.

Hi Leo.

As there will likely be a large number of files in a number of folders per-upload we'll just make sure users zip them beforehand then. Thanks for your help.
