Virtual Data Rooms?

We have ShareFile Platinum Edition implemented with on-premise StorageZones etc.

In terms of Virtual Data Rooms, how can we use/enable this product on defined users without separating them from the rest of the users in terms of "normal" ShareFile usage? Will the VDR enabled users still be able to use ShareFile as always?

We have requests where sensitive information needs to be shared and not even Master admins should have access to this. To my knowledge, this is not possible in the standard product, however VDR should support such need.

Thanks

Hi Allan,

Virtual Data Rooms are not a feature added to an existing account -- it is a completely separate account.  Outside of the renderer, they function like standard ShareFile accounts.  If there is data that your account admins in the Platinum account are not permitted to see, putting it in a separate account (VDR or otherwise) with its own admin(s) would be the only way to do that anyway.

Hi Leo,

Thank you for clarifying.

So this means it is a cloud only product, right?

Also, the user will have to switch between the VDR account/solution and the "regular" ShareFile account, right? No seamless way of doing it for the end user?

Thanks
