When we share files with the app it only gives us the option to send the email with Citrix Web email, there is no option to use Outlook.  How can Outlook be enabled as an option for the users?

Hi Dennis,

Outlook uses its own integration, which you can download at dl.sharefile.com/cfo instead.  The other apps can't assume you have Outlook, so they don't send it through Outlook (specifically).  You may want to check what your default mail application is in Windows if you have more than one.

Hi Dennis,

To follow up on Leo's recommendation, with Citrix Files for Windows there is also the option to Email with Mail app for files that are inside your Citrix Files directory. This will attach the file to be sent with the default Mail program on your computer, which in this case appears to be Outlook.

WIth Citrix Files for Outlook, you have the option to send an attachment through Outlook for any file outside of your Citrix Files directory.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Leo and Anthony for your replies.

Anthony, that is what I'm trying to get in the options, the "Email with Mail App".  I see the what is in the screenshot in my environment.

Hi Dennis,

Please be sure you're on the latest version of Citrix Files for Windows version 4.2.70.0. You can download this at http://dl.sharefile.com/cfwin

If you don't see it then please report back.

Thanks.

That is the version I have installed.  I also installed the same version on another user's desktop and they get the same choices as I do.

Based on your initial screenshot, it appears you have the setting to always require login on shares enabled. If so, you can only share files via the flow shown in Citrix Files for Windows, because we need to know the user's email address(es) so an appropriate share can be generated - one that requires login.

If you reach out to support they will be able to inform you if that setting is in fact enabled on your account.

Hi Dennis,

Additionally can you also check if Outlook client is the default mail client for you? Please check the reg entry at Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail.

If Outlook is not the default mail client it wont show up in the menu options.

Cheers

Thanks Chris, that is what is likely causing that issue.  We do have that setting.

Prabhat, I did just check that regkey and it does say Microsoft Outlook as the default.

Thank you all for the assist.  Let's consider this solved.
