Why is 'Anonymous' Listed as a User in my Activity Logs?

I've looked at my Activity logs and noticed that I had numerous downloads from 'Anonymous' why is that?

When you choose to send a file from your ShareFile account, you are presented with two options:Send email using ShareFile (default) and Give me a link I can copy and send using my own email software. If you choose to send a link through your own email software, ShareFile will not have a record of which email addresses received the link. This puts a limit on the ability of your ShareFile account to track the activity associated with the link.




If the link is sent through your own email software, and no tracking information is required to use the link, ‘Anonymous’ will be shown as the user who uploaded or downloaded files in any reports or email notifications.
